Steven Dimick
Mr. Dimick received his law degree from the prestigious Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, and has practiced in Alameda County, California, since his admission to the bar in 1979.
His practice over the years has covered a wide range of legal areas, including criminal and corporate law, conservatorships, real estate and contract law. Today it is limited to estate planning and probate (including wills, living trusts and durable powers of attorney) and selected matters in family law and personal injury. A former newspaper reporter and editor, Mr. Dimick brings to the law an extensive and varied personal and educational background which includes a focus on journalism. As a believer in service, volunteering and giving back to the community, he has donated his services to the Hayward Area Recreation District (HARD) Senior Centers (monthly clinics offering free legal advice for seniors) for more than 25 years and has lectured at numerous elder law seminars. He also sits as a temporary judge in Alameda County traffic and small-claims courts, has been an amateur lobbyist in Sacramento and was chairman of the campaign to incorporate the community of Castro Valley as a city in 2002.
Selected Activities and Memberships
Mr. Dimick is a member of the board of directors of the Castro Valley Chamber of Commerce, and is past president of San Leandro Community Counseling (a pre-cursor to Davis Street Foundation) and past vice-president and chairman of the Executive Committee of Oakland Opera.
